We strip the old covering, felt and battens back to the rafters, then inspect the timbers. Any rotten or undersized rafters and battens are replaced before anything goes back on — because a roof is only as good as the structure beneath it.
Membrane, battens and re-covering
We fit a modern breathable underlay that keeps wind-driven rain out while letting moisture escape, fix new treated battens to the correct gauge, and re-cover with your chosen tile or slate, properly nailed and clipped to current standards.
Leadwork, ridges and verges
Fresh code-appropriate lead is dressed into chimneys, valleys and abutments. Ridges and verges are finished in your choice of traditional mortar bedding or a maintenance-free mechanical dry system.
